Hi, I’m Elisabeth. My story really begins 27 years ago – in 1989 to be exact – the year I was married. I knew how to be hospitable but the word took on a whole new meaning when I married because the man I married defines the word hospitality! I don’t know of too many people quite as avid in their pursuit of hospitality as him.
I didn’t come into marriage completely helpless. After all, I knew how to make pies, tacos and spaghetti (using sauce from a jar) and I even had the start of my cookbook collection. (Oh, yes!) But I still felt uneasy when it came to cooking for others. So starting with my cookbooks, I learned recipe by recipe and since food happens to be a very necessary part of life, I’m still cooking and still learning.
I am the mother of 6 children – 4 boys and 2 girls and grammy to two little ones. 🙂
So where did all this cooking lead me through the years?
- catering a wedding for 200
- preparing a Mexican meal for 250 and serving it in my backyard
- hostessing numerous events for 75+ people
- hostessing overnight guests and longer visits
So come along and let’s learn and do together! I really hope this site is a blessing to those who would like to reach out to others but feel intimidated and unsure of themselves. Please contact me if you have any questions or topics you would like to see covered.
Here’s to delicious eats and simple but great parties,
